Everyone has issues. I had a very good childhood only got smacked a few times by my dad, but believe me that hurt like hell.

I feel sorry a bit for people that got abused and grow up to think that was somehow ok or good for them. I have never laid my hand on either of my kids and I want my tombstone to say 'He never hit his kids'.

And you know what? They still respect me, not 'in spite' of it but because of it!

I come from a kind of conservative family, but like a lot of conservatives there was a lot of crap going on behind the scenes, I got fiddled with and more (like sodomized) by several male relatives, my uncles/ stepfather etc. It sucked but if I fought back I just got a mean hiding, with belts etc so I just had to put up and make the best I could of it. I reckon I actually turned out alright all things considered, except for an interest in hardcore pornography and some deviant sexual practices lol.

The problem with your story is these kind of practices often get passed down right along in the family, as victims try to rationalize this behaviour they often end up imitating it. I hope you have the strength to end it in your line. I mean as it applies to incestual rape not the hardcore pornography =)

My son hasn't gotten one in awhile, but I am not going to say he's never been up for and gotten one.

When I first moved to Philadelphia when I was 7, I got jumped at school and had my ass whooped.

I came home crying, I got my ass whooped again for losing by my mom.

Defining moment in my life, really unfair that your parents can do stupid shit like that too you. For a long time I would get into a fight and I would lose control and will do anthing to beat the living shit out of the other person. The past 4 years has mellowed me down.

She used to get mad about lots of stupid shit, I don't blame her for being so strict.. my grandfather was a general in the nationalist army of china, he must have been super strict to his children.

She used to get mad about lots of stupid shit, I don't blame her for being so strict.. my grandfather was a general in the nationalist army of china, he must have been super strict to his children. She would get my dad to beat the fuck out of me too when she didn't think she was hurting me enough to get her point across.. i suppose my parents were just older, old fashioned.
