We should start talking about the scenerios so we can be better prepared for them if they happen. I love this business and plan to be in it for a very long time. US Visa and Mastercard say no more highrisk, so whats plan b? Do we only do checks? Do we all go to european processors? Lets look at scenerios big companies do this to be prepared for disaster and I think we should too. Your thoughts?

Its a very good question and one that SHOULD be discussed.

Look at the overall picture, first Visa deams adult high risk, then paypal bails, yahoo! with them. The payment options are thinning out here.

There are still some solutions like dialers, checks, tokens, 900 numbers etc but you and I both know US based customers shy from those.

Another thing to throw into the discussion ... do you realize how many sponsors do NOT pay you on alternative join methods?? The single most common payout method for webmasters is when the surfer joins via CC. Don't believe me?? ask em .. I did - or heck i'll make it easy on ya ... click my tag and scroll down the column near the right named 'pay all join types' ... surprising huh?

well now take the CC away and whatcha got left?
How many sponsors tell you what payment options they offer to foreign traffic? How many even ACCEPT foreign joins?

The public favors CC's now because it's possible. Once it becomes impossible to pay that way, are they going to say, "Oh, I'll just visit non-adult sites where I can use my cards, then. Or are they going to say, 'Well, how else can I pay, then?'"

i think that partnerships will be done with the big ISP's, so companies like swoit (like em or not) will partner up with eg. AOL (not likely i know), Tiscali, MSN online etc. We have had the initial talks with ISP's in my region.

Membership to the paysites would then be an addon to the monthly price of the ISP service.

I also think that all the major paysites will have small "scratch-cards" (is that an english word?!), where you pay for 1-3-6 months, scratch off the stuff on the backside and get your user/pass.

And finally - services like epassport (now that paypal has sissied out) will do good in the future im sure.

Get a merchant account, it's not very expensive at all and you control your own funds.

There are a significant number of options still out there but until Visa/Mastercard stop allowing chargebacks without any investigation and until webmasters stop trying to deceive (misleading promises, free trials bound over for months and months), legit adult webmasters will get the short end of the stick, so to speak

ePassporte is designed for that dooms day scenario. While it is Visa branded, for worldwide acceptance, it has a pay pal-like component that is working very well and all of it in real time.

I think it is a question of distribution as with most things. Visa and MasterCard's creation was based and built upon "acceptance". Merchants accepting a payment type drive account holders wanting or needing that payment type to make purchases.

I know it is self-serving to say this, but it is also true: ePassporte is the only product out there built for the adult high-risk business. Sure, loads are expensive now, but that is going to decrease and maybe go away and certain products we offer are free to load (Commercial Accounts). First steps are always the hardest; we took one with ePassporte and we look forward to maturing the product through positive input from webmasters.

There are more and more options.
1-900 for those countries
Rumors that "debit" type transactions are being worked on by a few companies.
Reveserve SMS is avaible for some countries and more are being added constantly (If you don't have this as an option on your paysite, get it). You can bill people daily, weekly or monthly till they cancel through their cell phone in several countries. This will probably be wide spread in north american in 2-5 years.

As for the SMS, I agree, I think that'll be a growing trend. There's a wide open gap here for someone that comes up with a good overall solution. One that could oversee both foreign and N. American processing .... whomever does is gonna be filthy rich!

The name of the game is high quality and exclusive content. People dont want to pay for crap. They dont want to get caught in a reccurring billing nightmare. There is a big loss of consumer confidence. That combined with so much free porn makes things tough.

These huge megasite programs are dying a slow death, and they will damage adult industrys ability to take credit cards as they use every devious tactic as they operate thru an endless chain of corporate shells trying to hold onto market share.

I think if there was no credit cards there would just be more epassporte etc type services, and bastardized avs type systems where the person puts money on an account and can signup at particpating sites with just their account number or password without giving dirtyfuckingjizzwhores.com any personal info.
