Mood altering absolutely....I wouldn't say it's as addicting as narcotics...that professor probably just never gets any ass so he spends his days daydreaming about the shit haha

There are a few things in there that I agree with, mainly desensitization after a period of time... but it is mostly propaganda.

The only kind of addiction I believe in is chemical addictions which can induce life-threatening consequences when someone goes "cold turkey." Any other use of the term is metaphorical and indicative more of the point of view of the accuser on a certain subject than of a medical diagnosis.

I remember reading or hearing somewhere that "if you look at pornography more than 11 hours a week, you are addicted." Since I look at porn more than 11 hours a day, I guess I'm an addict!

Anyway, I wonder how one arrives at such an odd number as 11 instead of 10 or 12?

Not everything you are addicted to will "induce life-threatening consequences" when someone goes cold turkey.

For example cigarettes, and nicotine, other than you might want to kill someone else ;)

I'm sure even pornography can be addicting, in that the activity of searching for it, finding it, and NOT JUST whacking off to it releases serotonin or endorphins and the "user" becomes addicted to those chemical releases much like a runner gets addicted to that runners high, or the extreme sports enthusiast gets addicted to that adrenalin rush.

Now I didn't read this article, don't care to. Using a professor at Brigham Young University as a resource straight off tells me the direction the article will go and I've got better things to do than to be told how bad I am for being a pornographer

I disagree. Going off cigarettes can induce a heart attack just like going off heroin.
