After viewing R. Kelly video 200 times, man calls singer 'a sicko'

Street merchant one of thousands who 'wore out DVD player' is charged with possession and distribution of notorious tape

CHICAGO (Red Line El)-Police arrested a bootleg music and movie street salesman April 19 charging him with "possession and distribution" of the infamous video tape reportedly depicting R & B singer R. Kelly engaged in a lewd sex with an underage girl. White market merchants (that's right?WHITE market merchants) have sold nearly 600,000 copies since the video was anonymously sent to the Chicago Sun-Times earlier this year.

The police department said that even though their indictment against R. Kelly is moving slowly, the case against those who watched and distributed the tape constantly are in big trouble.

After watching the video until he wore out his DVD player, Rubin Morris "knew in his heart that Kelly was a sicko," he said to this reporter. Morris was hawking the video on Chicago's red line el train during rush hour only minutes before his arrest.

"I've got the video on high digital quality DVD," said Morris, who has not been able to sell "The Best of Both Worlds" CD featuring Kelly and Jay Z. That CD has slipped 60 percent in sales. "Nobody wanted it. All they wanted was the video. They'd come up to me with a look in their eyes like a dope fiend. Hell I'm making more money with the video than I ever have moving bootleg music and movies," said Mr. Morris.

"I saw the entire thing on DVD at my sister's house with her husband, some cousins and about 62 of our closest friends," said one unnamed train passenger. "We watched it 66 times straight, because we kept forgetting to look at the man's face. After the twelfth time I was confident that was the singer of "Feelin' on Yo' Booty." Then we watched it a few more times in disbelief. That Kelly is sick. Instead of trying to be a "A Woman's Treat," he should be looking for a woman's birth certificate."

Police approached Morris at the Cermak Street El stop looking for his peddlers' license. Unable to produce one, Morris tried unsuccessfully to bribe the officers with the R. Kelly video, but was instead arrested and taken to 51st and Wentworth police station.

Mr. Morris, who is now waiting for his bond hearing is confident he will leave soon. "I made plenty of loot off R. Kelly. I'm sure I can make whatever bail they set," he said.

Though R. Kelly is still innocent until proven guilty, thousands of his former fans throughout the country have been illegally viewing child pornography in hopes of "seeing for themselves," if the man in the video is actually Mr. Kelly.

Anti child porn advocates view the phenomenon as an excuse for child porn lovers to enjoy their poison in the open at the expense of a well known celebrity. A new group called, the IHATE2WATCH,ILUV2WATCH argue that their viewing is strictly professional. "We got no pleasure, just disgust at watching the video over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again," said the group's president, Mr. L.T. Johnson, while wiping drool from his mouth.
