So I busted my hump scouting and hiring over 200 models our webcam site and now none of them will come online! One of the perks is that they can set thier own schedules, but Im finding that this added bonus is becoming an increasing pain in the ass. Is hiring models locally, setting them up in studios and organizing their schedules the only way to ensure that your models are online at all times or can it work hiring globally and leaving the schedules up to them?? Already tried setting up a Guaranteed Income Program to subsidize a couple of the best but like the schedules, stuff would come up ..they were busy.... the computer melted... bla bla bla..

Im totally game to setting up studios in a several cities across Canada and the USA.. but just wanted some advice and suggestions on whether or not this is the only way. Are there many companies, individuals, managers, photographers, that have studios with multiple models wanting to jump on a cam and take a cut??

All for now.. back to working on a machine to take over the world

I know it's too little, too late BUT...

the last thing you wanna do is let them make their own schedules and set them up with their own machines and cams, etc... etc....

I would recommend approaching them all like a real job... with schedules they MUST follow. In our studio, we go the extra step of making them sign a contract for 'X' hours a week, and if they don't fulfill it, they don't get paid.

It's tough when a girl can make 5 or 600 USD a night.. most tend to take the attitude that now they don't have to work the rest of the month ;)

Thanks Captain P.. I was thinking about changing it up a bit like you said, and have them first tell us how many hours they can commit to this project (in respect to thier other modeling projects ect) and then having them agree to a certain number of hours in total each week that they will be online. If they dont make that quota each week, first give them a warning, then if it happens again hold pay and if it continually happens the last resort would be to fire them.

Other than that, I have been getting a pretty good response from studio owners wanting to manage several models (and keep them rotating and online every 24 hours)

Do you have a website of your own? What brings you to the GFY forum?

Hell yeah it happens....

My partners and I run a studio for the biggest cam site. It's in every major paysite so the traffic is outrageous. Our girls have 100 to 200 people in the chat the minute they go online... even with 20+ other girls on at the same time.

Seriously tho, getting someone in different areas to handle the girls would be the way to go. There have been some sites that had multiple girls but they had problems or treated the girls wrong. (Treated wrong in, not letting the girls decide what they felt they were good at... you can't make a girl with two left feet dance, but she might paint beautifully if you follow the idea)

But then you might cross jurisdictional lines on sex related laws. Catch 22.

And whomever mentioned backcharging girls for shorted hours... ever heard of the Federal Wage and Hour Commission? That is illegal. Not saying it isn't DONE, but sooner or later some one will turn that sort of thing in and the gold badges show up and take ALL of your paperwork, comps and the whole 9 yards for investigation, IRS And ATF agents come with them.

Why not have someone like me code up a client/server system that will allow the models to "clock in" and get paid an hourly rate or something while they are working, then when their webcam goes off or they "clock out," that's that. If you have 200 models, I'm sure this would increase the number online at any one time because they would be paid while they are working, just like a damn stripper.

Then have a button like "This Camgirl isn't Putting Out", and when a certain number of users click it, then you clock them out and add to their "penalty" points (kind of like the damn deficiency points I got at OSU that got me in so much trouble)... so many penalty points means they're fired.

Then have a "tip" button or something where the users can tip the models, etc... make them try harder for their money... wow, this is a good idea. LoL

As a matter of fact... I'm going to begin work on this now.

Sorry but camgirls that are used to several thousand a week aren't going to work by the hour for any reasonable wage. Also, I doubt most webmasters would pay the hourly wage most camgirls would be willing to work for.

I am telling you the days of cam girls making thousands of dollars a week is over . I know personally my wife has been a cam girl for 3 yrs. A couple of years back she would put in maybe 20 hrs a week and make a grand. If she put in the hours she puts in now back then she would of made thousands. Bad economy lots of girls out of work, so the number of cam models has grown 10x if not more. Also one of those sites like peekshows that are in pay sites and the girl may talk to alot of guys but most will not buy because its supposed to be part of the pay site. I know a girl that worked for them and she left because it sucked and she was hot . Also she knows how to get money out the customer because she was a stripper in real life.

Your story may be true but that doesn't mean it's true of the whole industry. There's a lot of factors that go in to how much a girl makes... and if she's working for the wrong site, she'll never Bank !!!

How can you look at your one isolated situation with your wife and say it applies to the whole cam niche. You got 3 people in here that run studios telling you you're flat wrong and you're still gonna argue.

Well lets see my wife talks to other cam girls all day long so I think I got a pretty good feel for the industry. Also is the cam studio making lots of money and not the girl? If you got 2000 girls all making 50 bucks a week each you are doing pretty good and the girls are doing pretty shitty. lol Also saying on a board they do well how do you know its true?

I give ya credit for sticking to your story, tony.... BUT

try to see the big picture man... your wife talks to camgirls all day long.. SO WHAT.. I could find way more girls not making money than ones that are Banking. I could also name 100 cam sites that suck and have no traffic. BUT, I guarantee I also know of two studios making more money than they ever imagined, and a boat load of girls making even more !!

I'll admit, it's getting tougher, BUT... there are still a few people running sites with HUGE traffic numbers, and every one of them holds a CC.

I would recommend to you and your wife that you start looking around for an alternative to how you are doing things if her profits really have dropped that much.

I prefer the pre-arranged show and make good money with that ...so maybe you need to think about something where the girls don't need to have their cam online all the time.
My motto is if they wanna see something they have to pay, so as soon as they have payed they can see everything of me and more....

Just curious as to why you think business sucks right now as a cam girl?
So you would prefer having members join your room and pay a rate as soon as are in there. What about having personal one on one private shows? Do you prefer having private shows with multiple people in the room (charging smaller rate per minute), or would you like it better if it was just you and the customer (at a higher rate/minute)? Having private one on one shows with a model is a huge selling feature, so Im curious as to why you think that being "logged in on one site alone is just wasting time". I ask this because one of my models has two computers set up and works both our chat room and another sites room at the same time. We got a complaint from a customer the other day saying that during thier private one on one show (that she was charging $6.00/minute) she kept chatting in her other room! He was livid that he was willing to pay 6.00/minute for a considerable amount of time, and she was pre-occupied with customers on another site all together!!

I would love your imput on what you like and dislike about working as a cam model. What can a site do to keep you interested and motivated to work online, besides the money of course (this is the obvious

I prefer the pre-arranged show and make good money with that ...so maybe you need to think about something where the girls don't need to have their cam online all the time. My motto is if they wanna see something they have to pay, so as soon as they have payed they can see everything of me and more.... So you would prefer having members join your room and pay a rate as soon as are in there. What about having personal one on one private shows? Do you prefer having private shows with multiple people in the room (charging smaller rate per minute), or would you like it better if it was just you and the customer (at a higher rate/minute)? Having private one on one shows with a model is a huge selling feature, so Im curious as to why you think that being "logged in on one site alone is just wasting time". I ask this because one of my models has two computers set up and works both our chat room and another sites room at the same time. We got a complaint from a customer the other day saying that during thier private one on one show (that she was charging $6.00/minute) she kept chatting in her other room! He was livid that he was willing to pay 6.00/minute for a considerable amount of time, and she was pre-occupied with customers on another site all together!! I would love your imput on what you like and dislike about working as a cam model. What can a site do to keep you interested and motivated to work online, besides the money of course (this is the obvious Also if a site does have a free chat area, what do you think about having your time online subsidized to make up for that? In that case being paid an hourly wage ontop of whatever you make in private shows.
