well, that certainly sums up my thinking that this wasn't retribution for not getting an endorsement- the fact that he sought endorsements from 100s of dems, many of which did not endorse him, yet none got their traffic blown up. As for her theory, she says no one knows, it's just a theory.

Or just think of reports when there's a natural disaster when they talk about how much money it costs the city each day. That's how it was retribution; in the pocketbook.

Pretty much just like when Obama visits LA campaigning for money donations at $15k a plate.

I was in Beverly Hills watching as they closed down one street for over an hour waiting for the potus to finish his breakfast

Chris Christie looks some what like an older, more Americanized Kim DotCom.

He even has his own "Mega" Conspiracy.

Vendzilla, you are comparing a closure of streets and bridges for SECURITY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, to a couple of idiots who closed 3 lanes of the worlds busiest bridge for a week out of SPITE ?

Stop watching Fox News dude...it's killing your braincells.

Just his usual slight of hand smoke and mirrors topic shift about a Republican towards being more about Obama.

What about when Obama did this. What about when Obama did that.

Yawn.

This has nothing to do with Fox news and stop using that as an excuse for every little thing you have no fucking knowledge about.

The comparison has to do with how fucking bad the traffic is here and I'm suppose to get up in arms every time traffic is bad, fuck you!

Obama is the first president to ever fuck up traffic like this in LA

LOL!!!

Vendzilla my friend:

All presidential Motorcades, not just Obama's, will always cause traffic congestion. The routes are planned, sometimes announced in advance, and done to protect the president above all else. The city authorities are notified and the best is done to re route traffic where possible.

Chris Christie's office, fucked up traffic by partially closing the busiest bridge in the world, for no reason at all. They did it on purpose, and they even joked about it. They didn't tell anyone and played dumb. No one knew what was going on. That's your boy, a republican, fucking with the lives and livelyhood of the people of a city, for no reason at all.

I'm sorry Vendzilla me thinks thou does protest too much - you are really letting your unwavering love and trust of Fox News (and maybe other far right "news" outlets) show here. Only a person with seriously clouded judgement would ever compare these 2 events.

You read the communication between Baroni and Wilstein?

"TRENTON FEEDBACK"???

that looks like it could be a smoking gun right there - it seems to mean "Is the Governor happy"?

there are so many incriminating messages in there - I wonder if Christie read those transcripts fully prior to his press conference.

He made that marathon speech as a hail mary - he knew his career is effectively over - one shot, a long shot, but his only option - lie though his teeth and just pray all his subordinates keep their mouths shut.

Wildstein released those documents - and now hes asking for immunity for his cooperation - looks like hes going to be the first to roll - Chris Christie...been nice knowin ya :1orglaugh

Talking about a non issue, is this the running platform for 2016? Hilary completely fucks up all foreign policy and gets people killed in Begazi, but Christy caused a traffic jam, You are really reaching!!

I'm not republican, but Christy I figure is a problem for the GOP and the Democrats because he is willing to work with the other side and neither side can have that.

IRS gives liberal groups names of contributors to Conservative groups which they in turn harass and the president says he'll get to the bottom of it by assigning the task to one of his contributors and you think a traffic jam is more important, sorry, but that's fucking lame!

That's like saying Bush and his administration fucked up national security by ignoring Richard Clarke and in the process, gets everyone killed at the WTC and all them soldiers and civilians killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dude you are so broken - so morally and intellectually unhinged from reality - your false equivalence arguments utilize the most simplistic and nonsensical grade school logic...your Fox News poisoned mind is warped to the point where I actually feel sorry for you.

There was no Bengazi scandal - there was no IRS scandal- the IT problems with heathcare.gov were just that - simple IT problems that were quickly and easily fixed - you right wing smear guys want SO BAD for Obama to fall into a scandal but there has never been one..except by the fabrications of Ailes and Murdock.

You are so clinging to reality by a cunt hair Vendzilla - your reality is programmed into you by some rich fat white men who make a lot of money selling lies to fat dumb guys like you. You want to think of this REAL SCANDAL as just a "Traffic Jam" - then you are just proving what brainless worm you are- like you do in all of your posts - this "Traffic Jam" was an assault on a city - massive abuse of power, and illegal denial of free Gov services for personal political revenge - read the emails and texts...it was a fun game to these people to cause large scale inconvenience and frustration and loss of income to thousands of people...and they were PISSED when they were unable to make it continue beyond the 4th day...

Wake up and smell a real scandal when its in front of your face and stop the school girl false equivalence "Well he did worse!" boo hoo

It's a big issue. Chris Christie's staffers created a traffic jam for political revenge and did this for 4 or 5 days in a row. It stopped kids from getting to school, caused major delays, millions of dollars of damage, contributed to the death of an elderly woman, etc. This is abuse of power wouldn't you say?

Watch what you wish for.

If this kills Christie's chances and Hillary, or whoever, fucks up somehow (it could happen), the USA will then likely end up with a regular frothing-at-the-mouth, science hating, tea party type speaking in tongues in the Oval Office.

Problem is that the conservative wing of the Republican party already hate Christie.

He was already gonna have hell to go through to get through the primary.

So it's not a problem for Republicans as much as it's just the left killing off the latest "good" Republican.

Like I said earlier...a year ago they LOVED him.

But now that he is the only Republican who polls show could beat Mrs. Clinton...it's time to tear him down.

You gotta admit that the media spending so much time on this story...and at the same time spending so little time on actual NEWS happening around the world (not to mention the national scandals: IRS, NSA, Benghazi, etc.) is plain evidence of a double standard in the media.

Think about it...If George Bush had done Benghazi, Harry Reid would be having Senate hearings and investigating it right now. And it would be the ONLY thing that MSNBC would be covering day in and day out.

If Bush had been caught blatantly using the IRS to target his political enemies...Oh My Fucking God! The investigations would be through the roof and the media shitstorm would be intense.

And THEN if Bush had placed a campaign donor to head the investigation...

That's what I'm saying.
Do I think Christie knew what he was doing? Hell yes. That's what politicians do. They reward other politicians that back them, and they "punish" those that don't.
Happens in Congress and the Senate every day of the week when they vote. (but in the Senate or House the leader is "admired" for keeping his party "in line")

And I also think Obama damn well knew everything in his scandals too.

I've noticed that all the faux-liberal Democrat loyalists are quick to claim that in Christie's case the buck stops at his desk. He's the guy in charge.

BUT....with Obama, the same people claim that he couldn't possibly know what his underlings are doing.

Double standard hypocrisy.

The IRS and Benghazi "scandals" are non scandals. They were debunked a long time ago.

True, but Obama was not "caught" - it has been proving wrong many times. Then again, if Bush had done this, it would not be the worst thing he has ever done by not even a long shot. Bush deserves to be arrested for war crimes. Anything else is peanuts in my opinion.

.

Mark, that's just not true at all.

Only MSNBC and far left biased journalists have said that.

How can it be "debunked" when Obama himself went on television over and over and over and LIED about Benghazi being caused by a video on YouTube? He even had his underlings repeat the lie.

That is a FACT. Nothing debunked there at all.

As for the IRS...again, I don't know where you are getting your info...but it is far from being "Debunked"

Dude, the IRS chief ADMITTED that they did it.

And now there is an investigation about to be done by Obama's Justice Dept.

BUT...Eric Holder just appointed an Obama campaign donor to conduct the investigation!!!
What a crock!

But seriously, how can you say it's been "debunked" (except in Rachel Maddow's biased mind)?
The govt. has admitted to it for God's sakes!

That's the problem that I see.
The media SHOULD be up in Christie's ass.

And they should ALSO be up in Obama's ass. That's their job.
Instead they are proclaiming that everything Obama does is a "non-story" that has been "debunked".
It's not their job to try and sway your opinion.

But that's exactly what they are doing.

Certain news organizations have convinced you that the IRS situation has been "debunked"...even though the IRS admitted it and the Justice Dept. is now doing an investigation on it and just appointed an Obama supporter to "investigate" it.

That's like Rachel Maddow reporting that the sky is NOT blue and convincing people of it.
It's crazy! lol

No one ever apologized to All Saints Episcopal Church for an IRS investigation triggered by an anti war sermon given in 2004.

In September of 2006, under the very politicized Bush administration, the IRS investigated a liberal California church because of an antiwar sermon delivered by its former rector. The sermon in question was delivered on Oct. 31, 2004 by Rev. George F. Regas, who prefaced his indictment of the Iraq war and the Bush policies that increased the chasm between the rich and the poor with the statement that he was not urging the congregation to vote one way or another.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_IRS_scandal

Quote:

On June 24, 2013, new IRS commissioner Danny Werfel revealed that an internal investigation had discovered that the targeting was both broader and longer-lasting than had previously been known. The report found that words such as "Israel," "progressive" and "Occupy" were also used as red-flags for greater scrutiny, and that screeners were still using such lists up until May 2013.[8] A spokesman for the Inspector General's office in charge of the IRS audit said they had been asked by House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) “to narrowly focus on Tea Party organizations.”[104]

It was revealed two days later that while certain progressive groups also faced long delays in getting the IRS to approve their applications, the progressive groups were not subjected to the same level of scrutiny as Tea Party groups.

On June 27, 2013, responding to letters from Rep. Sander Levin, the ranking member on the Ways and Means Committee, Inspector General J. Russell George's office released a letter to Levin about the scrutiny of groups with "progressive" in their names.[106][107][108][109] Contradicting earlier claims of George's office, the letter acknowledged that he knew that the word "progressive" had appeared in IRS screening documents.[108][109] However, he said that the "Progressives" criteria was on a part of the "Be On the Look Out" (BOLO) spreadsheet labeled "Historical," and, unlike other BOLO entries, didn't say how to refer flagged cases. While he had many sources confirming the use of "Tea Party" and related criteria described in the report, including employee interviews and e-mails, he found no indication in any of those other materials that "Progressives" was a term used to refer cases for scrutiny for political campaign intervention."[106] The letter further stated that out of the 20 groups applying for tax-exempt status whose names contained "progress" or "progressive", 6 had been chosen for more scrutiny as compared to all of the 292 groups applying for tax-exempt status whose names contained "tea party", "patriot", or "9/12."[109](subscription required)[110][7]

Hi DTK,

Sorry that this is the message you took away from my post - it really isn't what I meant. Of course there are lots of corrupt politicians on all sides, in all countries, etc... but from my point of view, the GOP is the one that is the most broken. They started pandering to tea party nuts and now they have taken over. The problem is so bad that there is even infighting - republicans even hate John Boehner now. Chris Christie's mess is just more crap that the GOP has to deal with.

Have a good weekend...

**********, I just read what you quoted from Wikipedia and what you made bold:

The letter further stated that out of the 20 groups applying for tax-exempt status whose names contained "progress" or "progressive", 6 had been chosen for more scrutiny as compared to all of the 292 groups applying for tax-exempt status whose names contained "tea party", "patriot", or "9/12."

What I am reading there is that only 6 liberal organizations were targeted and 292 conservative ones were.

I think that kind of makes my point doesn't it and "debunks" yours?

They only went after SIX liberal groups (pro Obama) but they went after 292 conservative ones (anti Obama)

But what about Bengazi guys... You are seriously going to bitch and moan about Bengazi?

What about the 13 attacks on embassies while Bush was president? 82 people were killed in 13 attacks buy hey let make a big deal about Bengazi because Obama was president and Fox News tells us it's a talking point.. Who cares about the other 82 people, they aren't important...

When it comes to politics, I wouldn't doubt it. :(

The whole goddamn thing is disgusting from the ground up.

We (as a country) need to use the ballot box and vote every damn incumbent out.

It's amazing to me that the two parties point fingers at each other...meanwhile THEY are the ones who are actually doing everything together. :(

It is kind of a double standard at play here.

When Nixon targeted his opponents using the IRS, the press was all over it.

I personally am sick and tired of all these politicians. They are all a bunch of crooks.

But the media is getting worse and worse each year.

Their JOB is to question the govt.

But they only seem interested in making one political party out to be "bad" and sucking up to the other one. (unless it's Fox News and then it's the reverse of the parties)

The IRS targets political opponents. Lies are told until the truth finally comes out.
No big deal to the media.

The Benghazi fiasco. Obama HIMSELF went on television (including on the Letterman show) and lied his ass off about it.
No big deal to the media.

The NSA spying...they stood in front of Congress and committed perjury and claimed that no Americans were being spied on.
No big deal.

But a Governor is involved in a political retribution scandal?
Hold the motherfucking presses!!!!
This is BIG news, and must be covered and analyzed over and over.

Nevermind that Pres. Obama claims Chicago (of all places...the most historically politically corrupt city in America) as his home base.

The media doesn't care about anything BUT Chris Christie and a traffic jam.

Pathetic.

Meanwhile the Fed keeps printing money so our dollar becomes more and more worthless (and then people yell about raising the minimum wage), the war continues in Syria, all hell is breaking loose in Iraq, North Korea continues to work toward a nuclear weapon...
but NOTHING is as important as a Governor VS a Mayor local feud.

:(

It's like "AnchorMan 2" coming to life.

EDIT: And oh yeah...just got a letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield: My premium is now $875 a fucking month for my family of 3
Thanks "Affordable" Health Care Act!

You are STILL trying to pin things on Obama that aren't Obama's fault.

The IRS targeted groups it thought might be committing tax fraud. This isn't something new; This is the job of the IRS. And this has nothing to do with the White House or Obama.

Benghazi? I STILL don't see what the deal is here. An embassy was attacked. Did Obama know about it in advance? No. Did Obama take part in it? No? Short of ordering a force of US Marines to invade another country after two hours notice into an unknown hostile situation.... I'm not sure what could have been done different.

And then we have the NSA crap... Setting aside the fact that nothing illegal has been done, this all stared under Bush....

I see our governemnt in a different light now. It's no longer about what's right, it's only about making the other side look bad and sucking up government resources on problems that really aren't problems.

I truly feel sorry for people like this, too. I mean, the cognitive dissonance must be tremendous. Just like ObamaBots who refuse to accept that he's governed as a Center-Right corporatist with a neocon foreign policy.

Won't happen as long as gerrymandering is legal. Neither of them want to get rid of it, just like the Filibuster, or pushing through some type of campaign finance reform.

Funny, that. :disgust
