how about those 'Commit' lozenges things? Anyone tried those yet?

I tried the gum... didn't work. I just got hooked on the gum and ended up smoking and chewing that shit at the same time.

50 and 60 bucks a carton where you guys are at.... I would quit then there 30 bucks here.. and id have to say thats crazy but a friend of mine sells them online and I think im going to start buying them off there....

i have successfully stoppped for 6+ years now. Its possible and people who have smoked longer and more then you quit every day.

My only piece of wisdom that may seem overly simpleton is that the addiction is so powerful that it like an evil entity that lies to you and you need to get the upper hand on it and not let it dictate the terms of your relationship. Its not you that wants that smoke - its this entity. Its almost impossible to win the war unless you use something that adds nicotine to your system to smooth out the overwhelming urges. Right now the entity has his hand stuck up your ass and is using you as its puppet - it makes you think you can't stop and need a smoke, but its not really you speaking.

they just banned smoking in the restaurants here on Maui effective January 1st....

I was used to it in California, but then I got readjusted to public smoking again here, only to have it violently yanked away again...

I quit about 6 months ago, and wish I ahd done it 16 years ago. What I did was to get pissed at the tobacco companies for adding chemicals to keep me hooked, so they can pad their wallets and thin mine. It was sooo hard the first few weeks, but now I couldn't imagine ever smoking again. I have friends that smoke around me, and even then I still don't want to smoke. I fucking won.

Fuck you tobacco companines.

Been smoking for 9 years up till 8th Jan when I was taken ill with severe abdo pain... spent the night dosed up on morphine at the local hospital...

Don't know what it was but after that night I just did not feel like smoking again. Bizzare, but that's what it took. Been smoke-free since that day.

It's weird, people keep telling me they can smell my clothes - like the fabric softener on it - I think they make a point of it because they expect me to smell like a dirty ciggie.

Still like the smell though when out drinking and whatnot. Good luck anyway Amp. Go cold turkey if you do it at all.. you never know, it might work.
