Am I the only one that thinks all these European and Japanese cars all look the same?
Even their generic model numbers don't inspire any excitement. |

How come nobody has mentioned Corvette C5?
You can tell me how sophisticated and how much gas mileage and blah blah blah imports get .. At the end of the day, why not combine show with some GO as well. You ARE kidding about Prowler right? All show, no go. That's retarded. Daymon |

Boring, boring, boring. If you can spend $40k on a car just for the hell of it, get something different. Like this: A Tiger Racing Z100 WR - buy it in kit form from the UK, import it and build it yourself. Should be just under $40k, not sure about how legal it would be though... 0 - 60 in 2.8 seconds, 0 - 100 in 6.3 and nobody will know what it is ![]() |

2003 SVT Cobra, don't buy a pussy car.
L337 interior, 450+rwhp for under 2k in mods, and it's not a ugly, boring, 4 door euro trashmobile? It's also great to see the look on C5, Z06 and LS1 owners when you fly by them in a 'little old mustang'..

Last I checked, 330ci, C320, and G35 coupes were a dime a dozen.
Yes, you too can be bling bling in Vancouver when there are 1000's of those cars on the roads. Audi TT? Maybe if you run a gay website. Come on, those cars are for parking outside of Starbucks. Who's the guy with the truck on "dubs"? Last I checked those impressed gang members and 15 year old girls. That 745 is nice. That's a car that *may* stand out. See, the only problem with trying to look so "bling bling" is that on a 40k budget you're just going to look like a wannabe try-hard. Why not save for a Ferrari or a Porsche? My vote is for something a little more rare, flashy, and cool. C5 Corvette Dodge Viper Toyota Supra Porsche Boxster S I'm sure I could think of more, but I have a headache. Truth is, if you're going for bling bling, why buy into lower end luxury cars that will get laughed at when you drive into the country club. |

Mustang Cobra 2003 SVT is a nice car. Don't be surprised when the same LS1 owners slap on $2500 worth of heads and cam and leaves you standing still. Never mind with a charger.
No contest, the LS1 is a bigger, better engine. More CI = more power, anyway you cut it. On unlimited budgets, a 2003 Cobra won't hang with an LS1. On limited budgets it won't either. Corvette vs. Mustang for prestige and "bling". No contest. At the end of the day, the Mustang will be cheaper. But it will look cheaper, feel cheaper, handle cheaper, and lose more of it's value at resale time. |

Nothing, IMO, is more bling then something that can go roofless or topless.
Chances are if you want bling, you truthfully want to impress chicks. Chicks love, absolutely love anything that you can remove the roof on, and that's fucking fast. |

SMG Slk.... ok, that is a nice luxury car.
Audi? maybe if you want to blend into a crowd of 40 year olds. Most Benz, unless it's like a 500SL or better, are simply family haulers. Boring ones at that. |

Handling? There is no way in HELL any ls1 aside from a vette can even compare to a cobra in terms of handling, and even then I think you would be surprised with the results. Handles a lot better then you would think. Looks - that's subjective, I think all the f-bods look like ass, and I don't like new corvettes much either (although old ones, wink wink). By the way, as far as this whole bling car shit, it's stupid. Anyone who thinks they are a badass because they can afford a sub 40k car.. well is fuckin stupid =) I'm a lot more impressed with fast cars, then ugly status symbols. If you want a status symbol at least get something that 75%+ of people can't afford.

Get 2 14 yr olds sticking a pistol in each window of your Benz coupe at 3am after the club and you too wouldn't let wifey drive in Tampa on anything but factory Dubs either! Kids could barely hold the guns up. They jacked me and my cousin (REMY) for everything! (car, money, jewelry, weed, etc..) Kids had us laid out on the pavement like LAPD. and the scariest part was how fuckin scared THEY were. LOL I thought thier handtwitching would be the result of a bullet in me! Funny now, but it wasn't then.

Stock C5 Corvette = 405 Net Horse Power (This is the measure. Cars are neither rated at the crank or the wheels anymore. That's right, look in to it. 405 is NOT crank horse power.)
Actual and typical Dyno results (ls1.com source) for Stage II heads and matched Cam ~ 475 RWHP (dyno measured) Go charger, NOS or twin turbos and 550-600 is EASILY possible. A corvette C5 will out handle any Mustang, period. I owned a 2000 Camaro SS. This car is rated 320 Net HP (there's that term again, research!) A non SS Camaro, LS1 rates 305 HP and they say the ram air gets you 15 horse power more. This 15 horse power wouldn't be measurable on a Dyno though, because the car isn't moving right? My car stock dynoed 314RWHP .. And by stock I mean air filter and all. Seeing very close to 400RWHP on a z06 C5 is not only possible, but likely. I researched the engine a lot, I worked on and modified my car myself. I also raced this Car. My SS Camaro would run circles around < 2003 Mustang Cobra. Stock pan hard rod on a Cobra? I don't think so. How much hands on experience do you have with the 2003 Mustang Cobra? That's what I thought. Your experience here is as a paper racer. Good work. As for a "more effecient engine" ... Let's take off the forced induction, run any heads and cam combo you want on that Cobra Engine, and see if it will compete with a factory stock LS6. Never mind a lightly modded one. Mustang has made great strides with the Cobra, but I'm afraid the Corevette will run circles around it. |
