Today i got an email from chaturbate:
"Understanding DAC7 & Our Creator Advocacy
EU regulations under DAC7 require platforms like Chaturbate to submit annual data regarding income generated by EU-based creators. Since the passage of DAC7, we have worked directly with EU authorities to advocate for your privacy under GDPR and clarify regulatory ambiguities — including whether tips should be classified as reportable income. We take our commitment to protecting our creator community seriously and avoid sharing data unless strictly required by law.
We have now reached a clear understanding with DAC7 authorities regarding mandatory data reporting for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 calendar years and onward.
What You Need to Do
1. Update Your Payout Details (Action Required within 10 Days)
If you have not done it already, one of the easiest ways to make sure that we have all of your details is to set up your payment instructions in our new payout system. To ensure compliance and avoid payout interruptions, please update your details in the new payout system as soon as possible here: chaturbate.com/affiliates/payoutinfo/mm-pay
Deadline: Please complete this within 10 days.
Important: As early as 2nd October, payment instructions under the old system will be disabled. You must set up your account under the new payout system to continue receiving payments uninterrupted."
I abandoned this chaturbate affiliate account in 2024 and don't use it anymore. Does this apply only to camgirls, or does it also apply to affiliates? Because the email clearly mentions creators only. Will they now be reporting on back years starting in 2023? After all, each year must be reported by January 31 of the following year at the latest. Does this mean they didn’t do that and will now send a report on our earnings from the back years 2023–2026?
