The "hands-off" promise for models in this space often sounds way better than it actually plays out. Managing content across multiple platforms is a massive headache, and I've found that outsourcing the promotion/sales part usually leads to a serious loss of control over the brand and communication with subscribers. If you decide to go this route, make sure there's an incredibly tight contract in place to protect who owns the actual rights to the content, because it’s usually the creators who get burned if things go sideways or if communication drops off.
