Allie Eve Knox Talks Crypto and Camming on Popular ‘What Bitcoin Did’ Podcast

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Allie Eve Knox Talks Crypto and Camming on Popular ‘What Bitcoin Did’ Podcast

The Cam Girl Speaks on the Importance of
Cryptocurrency for Fellow Sex Workers!

LOS ANGELES (April 10, 2019) –
Adult star and camming sensation Allie Eve Knox discusses the value of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as an alternative to banks and other financial firms for sex workers during her visit to the podcast “What Bitcoin Did,” with host Peter McCormack.

Knox, who is known for appearing in adult films, award-nominated cam and clip performances, and her work with camming and wallet site Spankchain, takes on traditional banks and other financial firms for restricting access to services for sex workers. To listen to the full podcast, click here.

“What Bitcoin Did” had around 227,228 downloads in March of 2019 alone, and that doesn’t include Soundclound, YouTube or Spotify listeners. McCormack has quickly become the voice of Bitcoin with his popular podcast and blog.

“I started taking Bitcoin in 2014 for Skypes. It was a different payment source because I had all my payment apps shut down,” Knox said during the interview. “Cashout, Google Pay, PayPal - I had literally all of my payment sources shut down… so Bitcoin changed my life for sure.”

During the podcast, Knox explained about how cryptocurrency gives sex workers the ability to manage their earnings while avoiding chargebacks or other restrictions from banks and mainstream financial institutions that target those working in the adult industry.

“I’m just doing something that some people don’t like so it’s not like I’m harming anyone,” she told McCormack. “I shot a scene once and got a check and I went to put it in the bank and by the time they had written the check and I put it in my bank which was three hours or so, they had their bank account shut down and this was a regular porn company!”

But since using cryptocurrency, Knox, like Spankchain, has avoided having her earnings withheld or seized by banks and other financial institutions that marginalize sex work.

“Cryptocurrency offers a way to store money and transact without being censored and having your money seized, and that is exactly what the industry needs,” said Spankchain CEO Ameen Soleimani, who was also featured the podcast. “The adult industry is discriminated against at the hands of the financial institutions. They have their PayPal accounts shut down, Stripe won’t process payments and the banks close out accounts.”

Knox, who has been among the top cam girls in recent years, arrived in the adult industry in 2015 after having to struggle making ends meet despite holding a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from a major university. The striking blonde soon made an impact with her acclaimed performances in a number of adult films from major studios, earning her Best Fetish Cam Model of the Year at the 2018 XBIZ Awards and Fetish Performer of the Year at the 2018 Cammy Awards. Among her many award nominations were Best Indie Clip Star at the 2019 AVN Awards and the 2017 AVN Fan Award for Hottest Newcomer and the 2017 XBIZ Award for Favorite Fetish Performer.

Having turned her attention to camming while continuing her on-screen work, Knox has found a whole new audience eager to embrace her online adventures via webcam or by downloading her popular clips. For more information about Allie Eve Knox, visit AllieKnox.com.
