If you're referring to my post about the American doctor at the international conference, he was a spinal cord specialist. Once the emergency room doctor does his best to keep the patient alive and stabilize him, the specialists (like spinal cord surgeons) get to work on the major repairs. He was at a conference of spinal cord specialists and discovered that only in America is it routine for spinal specialists to have to deal with gunshot related spinal cord injuries.
