When the cop got there he gave me the ticket for not yeilding to traffic and because no one stopped I had no witnesses to prove that he ran the light. I got the ticket and he more or less told me it would have been my fault no matter what because I was turning. I hate cops!!!

My mom went through a similar thing..she was going through an intersection, and a car coming the opposite way stopped in the turn lane (no red arrow, so same yield situation), then pulled in front of her and hit her front driver side. My mom went to the hospital, and "witnesses" tell the cop what they supposedly saw, and he shows up to the hospital with a ticket for my mom for failure to yield! She gets a lawyer, spends $1200 to get to court and find out that the witnesses thought that my mom ran a red light, and the other car was coming from the perpendicular direction! Goes to show you how much "investigating" they did! It was clear from the damage how the cars hit, and there's no way they would have hit at that angle if the other car was coming straight towards the side of my mom's car!
Sucks for us.
