Instead of trying to specifically convince you of the merit of my application for your post count, I will tell you a story about me.
Today, I was reading a message board I frequent (not here), and someone posted this, in response to the imbecillic rantings of some pre-teen;
"someone as inept with grammar as you should avoid trying to use 'whom', cause you do it wrong.
For instance, 'You' is a pronoun in the singular sense. It can not refer to 'guys', which is plural. Who and Whom are also singular pronouns, and can not refer to a plural group, again, such as 'guys'."
I don't in any way consider myself expertly literate. I can conjugate verbs and I know what a gerund is, but I'm no Enlgish major. Yet I realised that this grammar nazi was wrong. "You" is a both the singular AND plural form of the possesive pronoun. English doesn't *have* a distinct plural form, and it's an oversight that introduces ambiguity, but what am I, a language designer? Besides, "Youse" is ugly.
It was at this point that another thought stood up, walked over and slapped me upside the back of my brain's head. The only way I could possibly know any of that is if I'm a hopelessly and irrevocably lost nerd. My life is destined to consist of little more than pointless intellectual posturing on internet message boards and waxing endlessly on idiot-grade pseudo-philosophical "revelations" around dining tables with people I don't particularly like.
In summation, you should feel sorry for me and bump my mo'fuckin post count, dawg.
