I come from the mainstream industry where stats and information related to the affiliate is delivered back to the affiliate.
I crunch numbers for a living and if I cannot crunch your numbers, I go elsewhere. And as to shaving... if your numbers don't match my numbers within reason... I don't complain... I just leave. It's harsh but I don't want to waste my time.
So, give me an API to count and track stats so that I don't have to scrape. If your program/site works, I can generate tons of good traffic.
