I have never been to Hawaii. I wld love to experience the sheer raw power of one of Mother Natures biggest waves!
We currently live in Surfers Paradise.

Our home state (Tasmania) is said to have the biggest waves in the World. A pro surf mag sent a few pro surfers from Hawaii and the U.S. there to surf for a feature story. The location is supposed to be secret to protect anyone not kick-ass.
Have you heard about it?

Here's where you are talking about babe

I read in Christian Slaters Book that even though most ppl associate Waimea as the home of the big wave - It's actually Trial Harbour that has the biggest waves in the world. Not surprising since it is near Bass Strait - one f the roughest stretches of water on earth
You can only surf Trial Harbour during the summer
during the other seasons the waves are so big they would just kill you
Here's Why:
Here is the offical surf website from our home state , heralded as "the last frontier of surfing"

Only problem with surfing in Tassie - is that it's so cloe to antarctica - you freeze your balls off (fortunately I don't have that problem - though back when I used to surf everyday including winter, I DID get hypothermia on a coupleof occasions)
For most ppl - they'd need a wetsuit even in summer.
