All that quaint stuff is fine, but after a couple of weeks and the wildlife crawling thru the floorboards and monkeys howling like hell and waking you in the morning - it can get irritating
I prefer a "real" house for practical living, security and being able to lock nature out for a while.
Something tho D... property here is on the up and up - same with land. It's hard to end up with a bad deal. Last year capital growth on real estate on the Pacific coast went up between 40- 60% on average, so it's a reasonable investment area.
