Good tippage as always Mark - but unfortunately very few would follow your sage advice.
As one who has been post-editing every single pic that goes in to our updates since 1995...I'm all-too-familiar with how much work is involved in tweaking images. And most people are either incapable, lazy or apathetic to put that much time and effort in to making their product the best that it can be.
As much as it helps sell an image better - there's also pride in offering the highest quality product possible. Many in the industry sadly don't subscribe to that.
