According to the PayPal user agreement, you have 7 days in which to ship out the item, once it's paid through PayPal. If he was able to file a complaint 6 days after EOA, then something is wrong with this picture. Many buyer's get burned on eBay as do many seller's. Why would you wait to ship his package, just because you were waiting for payment on 3 other's? Do you live miles away from the post office and didn't want to make multiple trips? The USPS does do package pick-up's at your door, just do the online postage through the USPS Click N' Ship or Endicia and schedule it for pick-up the next day.
eBay can be a pain in the ass to buy and sell on, but seriously, 6 days is way to long to wait to ship an item. Even if it's only a $10.50 item, that can be a helluva lot of money to some people and 6 days can seem like eternity.
It definitely doesn't pay to sell cheap stuff on eBay. That seems to be the group that will complain the loudest because they didn't get their .99 cent plastic spatula in 24 hours. For cheaper stuff and closet type clean-outs, garage sales are the way to go.
