I thout the Paris scenes were allright, with a bit of merit/depth throughout every scene. However, misguided placement, as this is my mob show. Not desperate housewives.
Anyway look at how Carmella gets absorbed in her surroundings, while her friend at last minute scurries back into the hotel for some souvenir napikins (more shit). Or goes off to fuck a 26 yr old, etc.
Carmella depicts the suddenly aware American, who finally can see outside the bubble. Finally have an appreciation for things outside one's own element. While her friend Rowe is the self-absorbed Americanized oblivious fuck. As well as careless to the beauty that surrounds her.
Before this episode, I pegged Carm as joining the Soprano family by series end - with all her "free time" and what I saw as hints. Maybe not though.
