I admit our situation isn't quite like yours... but we've been the "inspiration" for quite a few sites on the consumer level before... without coming out and saying copying (which was fine as it just gives us more motivation to improve the technology and do something about the marketing)...
But there was this one time that a site providing live video chat solutions like 2much actually lifted the text of their entire site from ours. Not just one page, but most - straight cut and past.
Before getting miffed, I got in touch with the owner of the site and mentioned something about the text being so close I thought it would not help in the search engines, if you know what I mean.
Anyhow turned out this guy had hired some eastern euro design dude who had given him a complete site in short time and fully written heheheh with assurance that it was 100% original.
Now I don't know that this was true but I gave him benefit of the doubt and gave him an "out" he otherwise would have sunk without.
In the end, if the guy would've told me fuck you i'm on another continent try to come get me, I would have just written the site over again... but wtf, you know?
