Freedom is not something you can measure like a length of cloth.

I've visiited USA many times and have family there, there are parts of the US I would love to live in and parts I would not.

But back to freedom, most of the US seems obsesed by consumerism and "Keeping up with the Jones". If there is a new designer label, fad or gadget they have to have it or so it seems.

Some parts of the US are very free if you are the right colour, religion, creed or gang, if not you better be careful. Try opening a porn shop in some States and see how long your "freedom" lasts.

Is Finland more free than the US, I do not know and it would be stupid to state such a thing unless you knew the laws of both countries. Probably both got laws that are good and bad for "Freedom"

This thread is kids blowing off. When the most powerful nation on the earth is about to launch itself and as many as it can drag along with it into a war. Why war? The reasons seem vague.

Saddam has only killed Arabs and Muslims so far and probably is too inteligent to do otherwise. A threat to the West? Has not been so far and probably never will, has he got weapons of mass destruction, definately.

But Bush should take the UN inspectors option and when they are slung out then move in the troops. He has no right to call for a change of goverment in a foriegn country and no right to send in troops and declare war when there is an alternative.

Afghanistan was right, they were harbouring a known teerorist who has launched many attacks on the US and it's citizens.
