Was just about the mention the hurricanes - they are fine for novelty value, but it can get boring sealing up computer equipment every time a hurricane is about to come near
That is probably the major reason for moving out of Hurricane Alley, but otherwise the Caribbean is a very nice place for lifestyle - and still got a base there.
Know what you mean tho... there are a number of very good restaurants on the islands (Egon Ronay Guide standard) and plenty bars open for long hours

I like the islands - a lot!
