A lot of it depends on the age of the kids too. I supervise a majority of their surfing. They each have their own login screens and their own bookamrks in them (I do the bookmarking for them). This keeps them on the sites they want to stay on and I don't have to worry so much about them making a typo and ending up somewhere where they don't want to be or I don't want them to be. When they get of chatting age, that will be monitored. They have yahoo email address for their mother, grandmother, etc. but it all goes through me first. I make myself a human filter above and beyond the software filters.
