1. programs shouldnt rely soley on cookies, it should be backed up at least by IP tracking with a database
2. the length of a cookie doesn't mean jack shit. A program can easally add something to the source of the join form like "if cookie = over 1 week old, ignore the cookie".
Not saying that you do, just saying that the lenght of the cookie doesn't mean anything.
