Sorry, but it's not stupid. The whole ideology you have just seems like an easy way for you to blame someone or something else for your own pitfalls. Just to make an example of a fairly "cheap" way to make something of yourself in the biz. By becoming a tgp/blog webmaster ~

It costs roughly $5-10 for a domain. And then $10-20 for decent hosting with a couple hundred gigs a month transfer. So your total cost is mere pocket change. With knowledge and dedication it is easy to turn that $20~ a month into a decent profit. With this profit your site is now self sustaining, meaning it no longer costs you anything for upkeep (it pays for itself). Once you have a decent profit you can then purchase benefits such as a dedicated server, traffic, scripts, design, or content. Which will increase profits - giving you even more revenue to spend on more benefits. So on and so on. Now, even though that sounds easy. It is a very in-depth and daunting task. You have to be very knowledgeable in the biz and know what does what and where (how to convert, how to maintain & grow traffic, who to trade with, where to submit, seo, what affiliate programs to use, etc etc etc). As well as be dedicated and spend your time making it work. You can't just put up a web page and expect it to run itself.

So like I said. Money to start with just makes it easier & a bit faster to become successful. It's hard work, dedication, and your knowledge of the field that are what really counts.
