sponsors quit paying for TGP traffic????

This was posted by Shawn on another board

""""maintaining a 1% or less chargeback ratio is going to be a real challenge. How are they going to be able to manage it? Probably by tracking affiliate traffic and chargebacks .........
One positive I can see in all this is the *possible* demise of the tgp's. Back when I used to play with that traffic I had a specific affiliate code to track signups to my own sites and the chargeback rates were obscene - even on the lousy $4.95 trials! I'm sure every other program experiences the same thing with tgp traffic so if it comes to a point where it's affecting their chargeback ratio, they may just decide they don't want that kind of traffic. Hence...sponsors won't allow tgp traffic...so who would want to post their free stuff? """"

This got me to thinking .. With the current visa climate rolled up with ever increasing problems in chargebacks etc,
Would the sponsors amongst us be willing to at least DISCUSS the possibity of NOT paying webmasters for traffic from regular TGP's??

I recall reading a post by one large sponsor that said he wished that visa had implemented HIGHER charges that would lead to a bigger 'weeding out' of the industry. Wouldn't something like this do the same thing??

I'm curious to hear feedback on this one
