In most cases, it likely is. I was just considering all possibilities before I jumped on the bandwagon; which I won't do at this point. However, like I said, I do sympathize and understand the position those who did are in.

The reason it even occurred to me to ask is the fact that one of my girlfriends got an IM from a Yahoo ID that I have, but NEVER use on messenger, the other day. I positively know it wasn't me, and since I don't ever use that ID on messenger, it's not possible that someone logged in from saved info on my YM. I don't really know exactly how that happened, but it did, and it wasn't me.
