Usually the Canadian economy gets damaged by it being too low (ie, exporters) theoretically it eventually balances out again and the Bank of Canada will raise interest rates to try to stem it. The rate has now hit the bottom of 90's recession levels.
Thank god Bush announced last year that he and his administration have a "strong dollar" policy.
