Exactly! That's the problem here in the U.S.
In the early days everyone had a shootin' iron and crime was DOWN. Then in the early 1900s came prohibition and the mobsters and regular people couldn't own or afford the high end guns.
Then after WWII it was tough owning a firearm and crime has risen ever since because the criminals are running the legislative branch of government. No brain exercise there.
