AN 11-year-old girl has given birth to a baby girl at a west London hospital.

The young mother went into labour on Friday, May 5, and has since been discharged from hospital, a police spokesman said.

A 37-year-old man was arrested yesterday at a residential address in Uxbridge, west London, four days after the baby was born.

The man was bailed to return to a west London police station in July. No charges were laid.

The young mother and her baby are being cared for by a local authority.
