You should come a summer, it's lasts for almost 6 months per year. I moved here last year, but haven't stayed for a Christmas to know how it is. I'll agree with you though that it can become boring through time. I haven't noticed this so far since I travel 7-8 times per year. Right now greek-cypriots are allowed to enter the occupied part. I've been there once. It is indeed a fucked up situation and most ppl are not aware of it which is even more sad since it's a problem going on for 32 years.
