*shrug*

If you think it won't help, maybe you are dating the wrong kind of woman.

Not that I know if it applies to the two of you, but I am wondering if it is the same guys who set extremely high physical standards are the ones who get treated like shit when they are "nice guys". The average looking girl next door is much less likely to be a bitch then that stunner. Of course there are exceptions, like Elli, Sunny, Vanilla, etc. But in everyday world, girls who get constant feedback don't "have" to be nice to get attention and keep it. It's the average looking chicks who rely on personality to carry them through.

I do know there is a kernal of truth in what you are saying. I've been guilty of it in the past..letting a super sweet guy go for some loser. That's youth, inexperience, and lack of wisdom. Date older women and you won't find that so much, either.

See, it depends on the kinds of girls you are dating. Now, that's not to say you should be dating women you aren't attracted to. But chances are good you will have to kiss more frogs to find your princess if you are hooked on young, drop-dead gorgeous girls.

Now, I don't know if you are familiar with my history with my ex, but we have really been through some shit..drug abuse, money problems, trust issues, parenting issues, you name it. But the fact that he shows me he loves me so much in simple ways like what I related in my OP, keeps me from just moving on with my life. And thank God for that, because he's resolved the vast majority of his issues, and I'm working on my own baggage that had a hand in the demise of our marriage, and it would by far be the best thing for our children for us to get back together. I am old enough now to know how lucky I am to have someone who thinks I am as wonderful as he does.
