I took him to the vet yesterday morning. While the vet was examining him he had a seizure that lasted about a minute. After he was stable the vet finished the exam and drew blood and we headed home to await lab results. About a block from home he went into another seizure that lasted the whole time it took the answering service to get the vet back to the office (they closed at noon) and he ended up sending us to another vet nearby that would be able to tend to him into the evening. He was in the seizure for over 90 minutes by the time I left him with the other vet. They called me about 2 1/2 hours later and told me he had died.
He didn't seem to be aware of anything once he went into the seizure so I guess in a way I kinda was with him when he "passed". The last thing he consciously did was pull away from me (I was holding him as I drove home) and he went to the passenger seat and immediately went into the seizure.

You were with him, I'm sure one of the last things he remembered was you. There is no happy ending to this story, but I'd be a lot happier if whatever prick did this was bound up and thrown into the lions' den at the local zoo. They'd sort him out.
