Definitely fill up the about page with something useful, or else just take it off the sidebar. While you're at it, add some shit to the sidebar like relevant site links, potds, whatever.
Also, you need to work on SEOing your blog. There's a whole bunch of information regarding SEO and WordPress blogs, so use that. First thing you do should probably be to take a look at your Permalink structure:
