I think Stuart's post says more about how fucked up perceptions are than why some forums are restricted to certain individuals.
I have no problem with places on the web being restricted. I do, however, have serious doubts about individuals who pride themselves of quantity vs. quality; unless you're talking about those stupid half-egg plastic gifts you get out of the quarter machines outside supermarkets -- those mass-manufactured things actually serve a purpose.
