I have a Rebel XT... just shoot for a hobby, so I don't really need to be springing for no $7000 telescopic lense.

But being out in the countryside, i'd like to get some shots a little closer up sometimes.

What do you recommend for a good lense that won't necessarily break the bank of a hobbyist?
