One less thing as a parent I have to worry about.
For those of you who don't understand what he just said.

It comes down to this.

Lets say you have a 9mm glock upstairs in your master bedroom for home protection. You always lock your room when you're not home, you take all the normal precautions. But one day you forget to lock your room. Children being children, one of them comes in & snoops around your room with a friend...lets say looking for your wifes chocolate stash. They come accross your glock in the proccess.

Now if that child has been taught proper gun safety, he'll know its not a toy & leave it alone. PERIOD.

Its not something you ever want to happen without your supervision, but if it does ever happen (and trust me it does), your kids a whole lot safer. As a child a went over friends homes & they showed me their parents guns....on several occassions i saved their asses, literally.

And just for the record, no kid ever starts out with a 9mm....you buy them an airgun to teach them the basics. I got an airgun around 9/10...& moved on to a .22 when i was 11...and so on.
