Have you ever used it? You cut a straight edge on two pieces of carpet, line them up face-down and lay down the carpet tape along the seam. Then you use an ordinary iron to melt the adhesive... and if you've done even a half-decent job of lining them up, when you flip it over you can't even see where they were joined.

It's a wonderful thing.
