I sleep on 1000tc and up and you can get yourself a pair of 1000tc off various websites for $100. Check out Overstock. My fave places to buy bedding although the selection isnt that of a department store are TJ MAxx and Marshalls. It may take you a little longer but you will truly get the best deals, I got my 1000tc for $75 from there.... pretty sateen purple ones.
Seriously, check out Overstock as well as a few stores on Ebay that sell some really nice stuff. Cant remember off the top off my head but they are the biggest Ebay store for bedding.
