Think it is possible to "just be evil", but it sure does not appear to be the case normally. There is usually some background involvement with adults who did them damage and/or abused them in some way.
Agree emotions can overtake sanity in cases like this - basically we all just go nuts over it and suggesting revenge by killing more folks - but that does not help, especially when we don't have a clue of the real background.
Think much the same as you - if a judge elected to release the killers and little doubts with advice and consultation with others familiar with the case and Jamie's family - it's prob best to accept that and let them get on with their lives.
PS BTW.. It's not just kids who have been abused and then commit crimes. Chances are adults who commit assault-type crimes against individuals also have a history of abuse when they were young - that shit is one very vicious circle where everyone involved is in some way or other, a victim. Death row is still full of the victims of pedos and abusers - makes ya wonder.
