I THINK (also, just a theory) that Epoch, iBill, and CCBill banded together on this one to promote thier own PROFIT MARGIN. Otherwise it would not have been a JOINT ANNOUNCEMENT. They needed solidarity on this issue to make it work profitably for them.
I think Ratboy hit the nail on the head. The "big three" banded together and found a way to use Visa's new fees to their advantage. Of course a chunk of that $750 is going to go into their pocket. That's major moola for a processor with tens of thousands of webmasters. Globill took the tougher and more ethical route and busted their ass to find a solution that works better for their clients. In the long run this strategy will prove to be the wise. It's like the Walmart philosophy. When they get better deals from their sellers, they automatically pass the savings to their shoppers instead of gaining on the higher profit margin for the short term. This makes more people shop at Walmart. In the long run the more ethical practice always wins!
