I generally agree with you but just because we aren't doing what we should in one area doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to make up for something crap we did in the past. I am biased when it comes to humpbacks in particular because they are the only animal ever to take my breath away when I saw them in the wild. However, preservation in general is not, in my view, something that isn't worth giving resources towards.

I am with you on many of those issues but those are different skill sets and I don't see why one or the other has to happen.
