I checked to be certain and I am still correct. Legally a company is not required to give any holidays off at all. What you are seeming to talk about though is religious discrimination, and in those instances where a company can not prove hardship they very well still can make the person loose a vacation day or other eligible day off in exchange for taking off a religious holiday or make the person taking the time off make it up to the company with additional time on.

requesting 1/2 a day falls under "reasonable request" to accomodate for religious practices/observation. any half way decent employer has no problem whatsoever with this concept. friends that work for Verizon, Eastwood Insurance and Ameriquest are already off work with no hassle for Good Friday. I don't think porn is exempt.
