Firefox is a browser - not an AV proggy. Depending on calls and bullshit on any page - any browser is gonna pull down shit adware, viruses in "images" and hell knows what else.
You notice the target for the crapware? Always damned MS products

Chances are the adware would "work better" if you did have IE running jact.
