Kurt changed things and affected people. Call him what you want.



His effect is influencing the writing of history, to be sure. But, given his final act, how can we characterize his Message? He captured our attention, then voted with a Smith & Wesson in the mouth. You might say the effort of doing what he did was so great that he had nothing left for life. That forgives a great deal. Consider the promise implicit in bringing a child into the world. I dunno, to me it smacks of self-indulgence. I shouldn't have to screw or hurt anybody as a side-effect of being great --
