You dont know how old and in what condition the round was. Additionally - it may have slammed down on something small and hard - thus focussing the impact.
I will give you 100 USD to slam a live round as hard as you can on a desk with random clutter on it. I bet you wouldnt. If you would - then you my friend are like the teacher.
