BTW are people in your area going "no cameras allowed" crazy too? Around here if you're at a beach with a camera and there are children around you're considered a perv. I was taking pics of rocks, well away from people, and I still got some dirty looks from parents! The one time I was at a busy beach taking pics of my daughter I made sure to use a wide open aperture so that people in the bg were blurred... and I still felt uncomfortable.
Cameras have been banned at many swimming pools, I'm not even allowed to take pics of my daughter even if no one else is in the pool...
