Strange 900# Requirement
A transaction processor, who shall remain unnamed, since they are not the ultimate culprit in this affair, sent me this e-mail:
"You are receiving this email because you are using 900# phone signups through (name deleted). The carriers and telcos have informed us that all sites of an adult nature which are using 900# billing must follow the below two regulations. We ask that all web sites check to see if they are already compliant, and if not, to ensure they are as quickly as possible. (Name deleted) will have to provide result reports of subsequent spot checks to our 900# carriers to ensure we are compliant. If you feel that you cannot comply without inexorably altering your site's intent or content, then we ask that you remove your 900# billing links to ensure you are not breaking any industry regulations.
"New 900# Billing Regulations:
"1- Sites of an adult nature must have Age disclosure text on their site in a visible location. An example of Age Disclosure text is: By signing up for this web site you are affirming your age as being above 18 and that it is legal for you to view adult content. All models pictured on this site are of legal age and are 18 years or above.
"2- Sites cannot use the terms 'Live Teens' or 'School Girls' anywhere on their web site."
***** End Quote *****
I am sending them this reply:
"I checked and I don't use that word anywhere on the site TODAY, but who's to say that two years down the road I don't slip up and forget that that's what the phone company wants.
"Would the phrase, 'I try to SCHOOL GIRLS that they need to learn math' be objectionable? I'd appreciate it if you'd ask them this question, because I'd like to use it on my site, along with the tag line, 'Long LIVE TEENS!'"
