Depends on the state. Here in Louisiana we have a one-party consent law, which means if I want to record my phone conversations, I can. And I don't have to inform you of the recording. And that applies whether you call me or I've called you. It even applies if your state requires two-party consent, which requires the other party to be informed of the recording at the outset (giving them the option of not participating), as long as the recording takes place on this end of the line.
